Privacy policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy covers the Réiteoir apps for Android phones and Wear OS watches. Réiteoir is made by Declan Lohan, an individual developer based in Ireland ("I", "me"). I am responsible for your information under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The short version
Réiteoir keeps your matches on your own phone and watch. The app has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it does not send your information to me or to anyone else.
What the app stores, and where
- Match details: the code, grade, team names and colours, scores, cards, substitutions, times and settings you choose.
- Voice notes: if you tap the microphone button, a short recording is made so you can listen back after the match. The app only records when you tap the button, and asks for microphone permission the first time.
All of this is stored on your phone and watch only. Player numbers are recorded; the app doesn't ask for player names.
Watch to phone
When your watch and phone are paired, finished matches and voice notes are passed from the watch to the phone using Google's Wear OS connection, so they can appear in your match history. Once the phone has them, the watch deletes its copies of the voice notes.
Backups
Android may include the app's data in your own device backup (for example, your Google account backup), if you have backup turned on. This is controlled by you in your device settings, not by Réiteoir.
What I don't collect
I don't collect your name, email address, location, contacts or any usage data, and the app doesn't sell or share information with anyone. Rulebook buttons open the official documents in your web browser; those websites have their own privacy policies.
Deleting your information
Uninstalling Réiteoir, or clearing its storage in your phone or watch settings, deletes everything it has stored on that device. I hold no copy, so there is nothing for me to delete.
Children
Réiteoir is made for referees, including young referees under 18. It works the same way for everyone: it doesn't collect information from anyone, of any age, and has no ads or in-app chat.
Your rights
You have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access and delete your information. As the app keeps your information on your own devices, you can see and delete it yourself at any time. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
Changes
Future versions may add features that send information off your device, such as match reports drafted for you, subscriptions or usage statistics. Before any such feature reaches you, this policy will be updated to say exactly what is sent, where and why, and the date above will change.
